Brisbane is a small city with a population of 4,282 (reported by the 2010 U.S. Census) and a land area of 3.1 square miles. The city has been called “The City of Stars” because of a 65 year old tradition of placing large illuminated stars on the downhill sides of homes and offices during the Christmas/Hanukkah season.
The city was originally platted in 1908 as Visitacion City. The name was changed in the 1920s to Brisbane.
