Menlo Park is an affluent city located in San Mateo County next to the border of Santa Clara County. In 2010 the population was 32,026. Nearly 70% of its residents have advanced degrees. Menlo Park is split between California’s 14th and 18th congressional districts.
Some of the features which make Menlo Park well known are: the venture capital firms on Sand Hill Rd, SRI International (formerly Stanford Research Institute), Google was founded in Menlo Park and recently Facebook global headquarters.
Downtown Menlo Park is centered around Santa Cruz Ave near El Camino Real. It is a wonderful place to walk around, having many restaurants and small shops.
