With many large unique older homes located on larger lots and with minimal through traffic, the Old Palo Alto Neighborhood is very desirable. The neighborhood is bordered on all four sides by busy streets but there is little reason for through traffic to pass through the neighborhood with the possible exception of Jordan Middle School located on N California Street at the neighborhood boundary. The Town & Country Shopping Center, downtown Palo Alto, Stanford University, the California Ave business district, and the Midtown Shopping Center are all within walking distance of the Old Palo Alto neighborhood.
