With Embarcadero Road passing both Walter Hays Elementary School and Rinconada Park at the edge of the Community Center neighborhood, many visitors get a glimpse of some of the attractions of this neighborhood but miss seeing what the neighborhood is like. Although surrounded by some of Palo Alto's busier residential streets; Embarcadero, Middlefield, Channing, and University, most homes are located on less traveled streets providing a comfortable neighborhood feeling.
Besides the top rated elementary school and the park, the neighborhood also offers the Children's Library, the Junior Museum, the Art Center, the Lucie Stern Community Center, and Palo Alto's main library. Downtown Palo Alto is within walking range.
