{"id":177,"date":"2013-02-06T13:04:45","date_gmt":"2013-02-06T21:04:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/julianalee.com\/blog\/?p=177"},"modified":"2013-02-06T14:32:01","modified_gmt":"2013-02-06T22:32:01","slug":"do-fences-establish-boundary-lines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/julianalee.com\/blog\/do-fences-establish-boundary-lines\/","title":{"rendered":"Do Fences Establish Boundary Lines?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From time to time neighbors discover that a fence between their properties is not located on the true property line.<\/p>\n<p>California allows a fence to establish the property boundary if the true boundary is not known (imagine a twisting property line following a no longer existing road) and if the adjacent landowners agree to the property line.<\/p>\n<p>For most urban and suburban properties a survey can determine where the property boundaries are. Thus the true boundary <strong>is known<\/strong> even though the property owners may not know.
