Foster City Levee Improvements & Tax

The Foster City Levee improvement, which was funded by Measure P in 2018, is estimated to cost property owners $40 per $100,000 of assessed property value. This cost is much less than the typical flood insurance required by mortgage lenders.

The project is also intended to make the Levee/Bay Trail a more inviting recreation destination.

The construction, which is underway, currently has a 2.5 mile section of the Foster City Levee Trail closed (from approximately Port Royal Ave to Shorebird Park). Beginning around Jan 7, 2021 a 2 mile section from Shorebird Park to just north of the San Mateo Bridge will also be closed.
